DAVE DAMESHEK'S BIO

On-Air Talent/Sports, "The Adam Carolla Show"

Dave joins 'The Adam Carolla Radio Show' as the sports correspondent after two-and-a-half years as a writer on ABC's 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'.

Dave came to Los Angeles in 1999 – following a wildly successful five-year stint in corporate benefit sales in Chicago – to pursue his lifelong dream of modern dance.  However, after a career-ending injury, Dave shifted his focus to comedy writing and radio broadcasting.

For the better part of two years, Dave wrote for various cable shows, including Fox Sports Net's 'Sports Geniuses' and Comedy Central's 'Battlebots'.  His first big break, though, came in 2001, when he was hired as a writer on Comedy Central's 'The Man Show', where he would work for the show's third and fourth seasons.

During that time, Dave became the co-host of a Fox Sports Radio show with radio veteran Kent Voss.  The show became a national late-night institution for the better part of four months.

Dave also wrote and/or appeared in a handful of Jimmy Kimmel's popular segment on Fox's NFL pre-game show.

Dave then moved on to write for the second and third seasons of Comedy Central's 'Crank Yankers', as well as Comedy Central's 'I'm with Busey' and 'Trigger Happy TV'.

In 2002, Dave began writing for 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'.  Along with his main responsibility of working on the show's nightly monologue, Dave made a number of appearances on the show that remain etched forever in the minds of all who saw them.

In 2004, Dave became the weekly sports correspondent on Los Angeles FM Indy 103.1's 'Mighty Morning Show' – hosted by Dickie Barrett.  Over the last two years, Dave has also made periodic appearances on regional and national ESPN Radio programs.

Dave hails from Pittsburgh, Pa. – America's Most Livable City of 1984, according to Rand McNally – and received his undergraduate degree in Broadcast Journalism from Indiana University before moving to Chicago.  To date, Dave has received no nominations for any awards in the various media in which he's worked.  However, he does have a victory speech prepared if and when the occasion arises.
